Auction Edge Goes Live With Additional Check-In Modules

As of this week, Auction Edge Inc. is adding an additional check-in module to its open management platform.
The company announced on Monday that Auction Edge, which provides a national remarketing platform of more than 130 independent auto auctions in the U.S. and Canada, will now support vehicle check-in through AWG Remarketing’s mobile tool.
Check-in through AWG goes live this week with American Auto Group’s Auctions in Motion, and will be widely available this year, the company said. (As reported in Auto Remarketing, AAAG said Monday it has acquired Auctions in Motion.)
Scott Heydon, newly-appointed senior vice president of strategy and operations for Auction Edge, explained, “Our goal at Auction Edge is to create an open, unified, technology platform. We want all our stakeholders, auctions, dealers and consigners to be able to make use of the best solutions available. American Auto Auction Group explained the need and the value of integrating AWG’s check-in system so we moved quickly to make it happen.”
“We rely on Auction Edge’s systems to run our auctions,” added Bill McIver, chief executive officer and chairman of AAAG. “As we have started adding additional Private Label auctions, we wanted to use a mobile specific check-in module provided by AWG. Auction Edge’s open platform philosophy accommodated our requirements. The Auction Edge team delivered a solution for us quickly, enabling us to innovate and grow.”
