“Tuesday’s Gone” on a Wednesday. “Sweet Home Alabama” in Missouri. “Gimme Three Steps” to celebrate 16 years.
America’s Auto Auction Kansas City announced this week that Lynyrd Skynyrd will headline its 16th Annual Guitars & Cars Sale, set for Aug. 12-13.
The event begins with a midmorning sale on Aug. 12, followed by an exclusive Skynyrd concert for registered dealers that night. The next day will also include a full lineup of auction action.
The Guitars & Cars Sale is expected to feature more than 2,500 vehicles, $20,000 in post-sale prizes and in-lane consignor promotions.
“Guitars & Cars has always been about more than just moving cars. It’s about bringing this industry together for something worth showing up for,” America’s Auto Auction Kansas City general manager Doug Doll said in a news release. “After 16 years, I’m still proud of what this event means to our customers and having Lynyrd Skynyrd on stage this August is going to make it one they’ll be talking about for a long time.”

“Reaching 25 years is truly a celebration of the people who made it possible,” said co-founder Russ Smith in a news release. “Our employees, customers, vendors, and partners have been the foundation of everything we’ve built.
“The upcoming anniversary sale will serve as both a celebration and a thank you, honoring past and present employees while recognizing the customers and partners who have contributed to the auction’s success.”
Smith founded the auction with Jerry Gregersen and Cade Reindflesch, repurposing a 50,000-square-foot manufactured home assembly plant.
“Despite humble beginnings and early challenges, the team remained committed to building something exceptional,” ServNet Auction Group, of which DAA Idaho is a member, said in a news release. “With the addition of partner Mark Andrews and the dedication of early team members like Della Roquemore, Scott Wilson, and Chad Macomber, the auction steadily gained traction.
“Today, Wilson and Macomber remain integral members of the team, a testament to the culture of longevity and commitment that defines the organization. A pivotal moment came when Gregersen proposed purchasing 40 acres for a new facility, an ambitious move at a time when sales had yet to justify the investment. That vision proved transformative. Today, the property is fully utilized, reflecting years of consistent growth fueled by a relentless focus on service and value.”
The anniversary sale was set for Wednesday.
