Beggs: Spring Market Has ‘Finally’ Arrived

GAINESVILLE, Ga. –
According to Black Book’s Ricky Beggs, typical spring wholesale market conditions might have “finally” arrived.
Beggs made the statement after assessing the overall price movements for his weekly online video analysis, “Beggs on the Used Car Market.
He indicated that car segments continue to show more stability, noting that for the past four weeks the average change has undergone a smaller declining amount.
This past week, prices for full-size cars actually increased by $2, and six of the 10 car segments declined by $7 or less. Black Book found those movements left the overall change for car prices at a drop of $18.
Looking at trucks, prices for these units posted the smallest average segment declining amount in the past seven weeks, decreasing by just $19.
At the same time, midsize pickup prices actually increased by $5 for the week.

“Our overall observations of the market this week indicate a desire by the dealers to find good inventory for the spring market that we think has finally arrived,” Beggs said.
“Have a great week and we will see you on the auction lanes again this week,” he added.
