Mike Browning, who is president of the NAAA Warren Young, Sr. Scholastic Foundation, sent a letter through the National Auto Auction Association on Monday in response to severe weather and tornadoes that ripped through Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri on Friday and Saturday.

Among the reports from the National Weather Service, a tornado rated at EF3 intensity with maximum winds up to 152 mph moved through the northern portions of St. Louis on Friday afternoon.

“As many of you know, this time of year tends to be active with severe weather and tornado threats,” Browning wrote. “In times like these, we want to remind everyone about the NAAA Mike Browning Auction Employee Relief Fund, which is a component of the NAAA Warren Young, Sr. Scholastic Foundation (NAAAWYSSF). The fund is set up to provide financial assistance to active employees of NAAA member auctions who have experienced a major financial loss or have an emergency financial need due to a natural disaster.

“If your auction or any of your team members have been affected by the tornadoes or other severe weather, please let us know as we are here to help,” continued Browning, who also is general manager of Manheim San Antonio.

“We are a special industry, and we have always had each other’s back. We hope that everyone stays safe over the next few days, and we are thinking of everyone affected by these storms,” Browning went on to say.
