Carmigo, an online marketplace and wholesale platform for dealerships, has promoted Chris Michael to from operations manager to vice president of operations.
Michael has been with company almost since its beginning — he joined three months after its founding in early 2021 — and has led its operations department through multiple company-wide initiatives.
In a news release, Carmigo called Michael a “foundational” member of the team.
“It’s hard to imagine Carmigo without Chris,” CEO and co-founder Andrew Warmath said in a news release. “I asked him to join the company when there was no promise of a future. Since then, we’ve thrown a lot of changes at him, and he’s handled each one with precision and candor.”
Carmigo started as a solely consumer-focused platform with in-market inspectors in the Southeast. Michael was in charge of the inspection and post-sale teams when they were in-market, managed the transition of those teams to headquarters-based roles, and is now in charge of managing in-market operations for Carmigo’s dealer-to-dealer network.
His new role follows the Feb. 1 launch of Carmigo’s wholesale platform, Carmigo Turn. The company said it has more than tripled its sales force in the first quarter of 2024, which equires operational support in markets throughout the South.

“We’re seeing a growing need for inspector and post-sale efficiency as our network grows and our sales increase,” Michael said. “It’s all about perspective. Our dealers demand a level of service and support on par with our national competitors, and we must meet those needs in order to stay competitive.”
Carmigo said Michael will focus on rapidly growing the inspection team as the company looks toward expansion.
