California, here it comes.

Carvana’s next combination auction-reconditioning operation is coming to ADESA Golden Gate.

The online used-car retailer announced it plans to add inspection and reconditioning center capabilities to the wholesale auction site in Tracy, Calif., adding to its rapidly growing list of integrated facilities.

ADESA Golden Gate, which has served wholesale customers for more than five decades, offers “substantial infrastructure” to support IRC operations alongside its wholesale auction services, Carvana said. The company has begun hiring for the approximately 100 new jobs expected to be created.

Carvana senior vice president of inventory Brian Boyd said the integration at ADESA Golden Gate “not only strengthens Carvana’s nationwide network but also drives specific benefits for our retail and wholesale customers in the region,” adding it will “unlock faster delivery options for local car buyers and a more comprehensive offering for our wholesale auction customers while building our team and presence in Northern California.”

Carvana said the integration expands its total reconditioning capacity and establishes a new pool of retail inventory in the Bay Area, supporting faster delivery times for local customers, as well as enhanced on-site capabilities for wholesale customers.

The company said the site’s transition to an IRC-enabled facility is supported by Carvana’s proprietary software platform, CARLI, designed to drive operational consistency and scale across the company’s national reconditioning network.
