The list of Carvana’s combined auction-reconditioning facilities is growing again.

The online used-car retailer said it plans to add an inspection and reconditioning center to its ADESA Seattle wholesale auction site, making it the 11th such location nationwide.

ADESA Seattle has been operating at its 40-acre site in Auburn, Wash., for more than four decades. Carvana said the addition of IRC operations to the ongoing digital and in-lane auction services will create approximately 100 new jobs in inspection, reconditioning and fulfillment.

“Adding IRC capabilities at ADESA Seattle deepens our presence in the region, bringing more selection and faster delivery options to local retail customers and more robust auction services to our wholesale partners,” Carvana senior vice president of inventory Brian Boyd said. “We’re proud to strengthen our customer offering and continue growing our team in the Pacific Northwest.”

Carvana said the integration expands its total reconditioning capacity and creates a new pool of retail inventory in the Seattle area for faster delivery times to local customers. It also provides improved on-site services for wholesale auction customers.

The company said the site’s transition to an IRC-enabled facility — formerly called a Megasite — is supported by Carvana’s proprietary software platform, CARLI, which is designed to drive operational consistency and scale across the company’s national reconditioning network.
