Harrisburg Auto Auction Raises $35K for American Red Cross

Harrisburg Auto Auction raised more than $35,000 for the American Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy relief through a program in November and December where the auction donated $5 for every vehicle sold.
Having sold more than 7,000 units during these months and with the auction employees walking through the lanes to solicit donations from dealers, Harrisburg AA raised a grand total of $35,337.77, which went to the American Red Cross in Lancaster and was designated for Hurricane Sandy relief.
Many of the dealers who attend sales at the Pennsylvania auction each week are from the New Jersey and New York areas that were directly affected by storm.
“Our dealers are our friends and our family. All of us here wanted to help, and the Red Cross is the best way to reach out and help the victims affected by Sandy,” said Chip Hoynitski, president of Harrisburg AA.
