A visit to the doctor is often the best way to diagnose what ails you, optimize health and to understand best practices based on your condition.
Same goes for cars.
And IAA, a global digital marketplace connecting vehicle buyers and sellers, has a new physician on call.
On Tuesday, the company announced a partnership with CarDr.com, which provides rapid OEM-level vehicle diagnostic technology.
The partnership will help provide a shot in the arm to IAA’s condition reporting and overall remarketing strategy through diagnostic intelligence.
The CarDr diagnostic platform can provide IAA with OEM-level engine diagnostic scans in roughly 30 seconds. This gives IAA deeper mechanical insights to use in condition reports.

Buyers on the IAA platform will have a better understanding of a vehicle’s condition, while sellers will be able to utilize more comprehensive and data-drive remarketing strategy.
CarDr allows for IAA to incorporate standardized diagnostic scans directly from a vehicle’s onboard system. This adds to both the depth and quality of information within the IAA marketplace.
For example, the data expansion allows for more visibility into potential engine issues, diagnostic trouble codes and system alerts. This type of information is often tricky to capture at scale, the companies said.
Diagnostic data allows for greater buyer confidence and lower uncertainty, especially in remote bidding, and aids in valuation and downstream planning.
On the seller’s side, stronger condition reports through this data help promote stronger engagement, conversion rates and optimized vehicle returns, the companies said.
“IAA is focused on continuously investing in technology that elevate our remarketing platform and deliver meaningful value to both buyers and sellers,” said John Mathiowetz, IAA’s vice president of sales & strategy.
“CarDr’s ability to provide quick, OEM-level diagnostic insights aligns well with our strategy to enhance condition reporting, improve transparency, and support more informed purchasing decisions across our marketplace,” he said.
Added CarDr president and CEO Greg Lubrani: “IAA continues to innovate digital remarketing, and we’re proud to support them as they continue to raise the bar for vehicle intelligence and transparency. By integrating CarDr into IAA’s inspection and condition reporting processes, we’re enabling OEM-level diagnostic insight to be delivered in seconds — at scale — helping power smarter decisions throughout the remarketing lifecycle.”
