WESTCHESTER, Ill. -

Dealers have a whole new option for purchasing cars at auction — bid by night.

Insurance Auto Auctions Inc. this week announced the launch of its first-ever nighttime auto auction series, called Stars of Atlanta.

The weekly auctions will be held at IAA’s Atlanta East branch in Winder, Ga.

IAA described the Stars of Atlanta Nighttime Auto Auction as a wholesale dealer auction open to the public, providing an opportunity to purchase clear-title, high-quality vehicles at wholesale prices.

Consumers will have the opportunity to bid on wholesale cars, trucks, minivans and SUVs through IAA’s hybrid live and live-online auction process, and many vehicles in this auction will be featured in the All-Star Run & Drive lane, IAA officials reported.

The vehicles come directly from retail car dealers, financial institutions and other authorized sellers.

IAA said it will continue to hold its traditional salvage auction on Thursdays beginning at 9 a.m. EST.

Inventory for the Stars of Atlanta Nighttime Auto Auction can be previewed online at BuyatNight.com, with new inventory added to the auction lists daily.

“This new nighttime auction allows us to provide our customers and the general public with greater access to high-quality, clear titled inventory at wholesale prices,” said Tom O’Brien, chief executive officer at Insurance Auto Auctions Inc. “We are excited to offer yet another unique auto auction buying experience and an opportunity for interested buyers to realize significant value.”

Stars of Atlanta Nighttime Auto Auctions will take place on Wednesdays beginning at 6 p.m. The public can register to bid here.
