Liquid Motors Sees ‘Record’ Growth in Multi-Platform Wholesale Tool Usage

Multi-platform selling — perhaps a new buzz word in the industry? Liquid Motors thinks so, and the company announced Tuesday it is seeing “record growth” in use of its wholesale tools that utilize this system. With marketplaces such as eBay Motors, Cars.com, AutoTrader.com and more, dealers and others in the remarketing industry have many options to choose from.
Liquid Motors, which distributes customer inventory to these online retail marketplaces, among others, says it works to “create maximum exposure for their (customers) inventory.”
After launching its “One Click Wholesale” service in 2012, Liquid Motors announced this week over the last six months, the company has see what it calls “tremendous growth” in the number of customers using the tool, the listing volume of those customers and the sales rates of listed vehicles.
And dealers aren’t the only ones utilizing this tool; 35 independent auctions that have signed up to use the service, as well.
“Since launching the product in 2012, we now have over 1,000 dealers that have the ability to launch their inventory to one or multi online wholesale marketplaces” said Greg Lubrani, chief operating officer of Liquid Motors. “Further independent auctions are launching their grounded vehicles and are also going to the dealer and assisting them with their online wholesale strategies.”
And one Texas dealer expressed his enthusiasm for the product, as well.
“Liquid Motors has been great to work with on our online selling strategy. We have doubled our online sales by utilizing their products,” said Dale Martin, general manager of Lone Star Auto Auction in Lubbock, Texas. “By utilizing their wholesale products, we have the ability to launch our vehicles seamlessly to all of the major online wholesale sites giving us increased exposure.”
Liquid Motors also offered a bit of a breakdown regarding why the tool is particularly helpful to dealers.
Basically, inventory distribution companies provide value by allowing users to enter vehicle information in one centralized system and that system distributes the data to all the marketing destinations, the company explained.
Taking a look at this system, Liquid Motors “identified the same need for wholesale merchandising of vehicles that the company provided for retail merchandising.
“Dealers were listing their inventory on all of the major wholesale sites manually, a time consuming task with lots of room for human error,” they added.
The company explained this simplifies the process for dealers but also helps protect them from double sales.
So, how does the tool work?
First, inventory is pushed into the portal from a dealers DMS system, their lot services provider, or they can manually enter the vehicle.
The dealer can then decide to launch the vehicle to one or multiple sites.
“If a vehicle is on multiple channels at the same time and the vehicle is sold via wholesale or retail, the system would seamlessly remove the vehicle from the other sites protecting the dealer from double sales and any penalties,” officials explained.
“It is an exciting time for our industry as more dealers adapt to the technology that is available to them,” said Michael Daseke, chief executive officer of Liquid Motors.
“We plan on continuing to enhance our wholesale merchandising services to provide additional value to companies wanting to leverage the online wholesale marketplaces,” he concluded.
