Location Services has added former Cox Automotive executive Erik Kibler as its new vice president of marketing and strategic initiatives.

The forwarding company for the third-party servicing industry said Kibler will lead its marketing strategy, brand development, data analytics and strategic growth initiatives across all verticals.

“Erik has an impressive background and reputation in marketing, sales, data science, analytics and strategic perspectives,” CEO Jerry Kroshus said. “His 20-plus years of experience at Cox Automotive, along with his previous time at a major dealership group in a senior marketing role, provides him with an excellent foundation to build out what we need.”

Kibler will also be responsible for taking client and vendor scorecards “to the next level,” as well as developing a monthly industry publication for customers called Kibler’s Korner, which Kroshus said will “provide our clients with guidance on macroeconomic and industry-specific trends.”

In a news release, Location Services said Kibler understands the remarketing and servicing industries, noting he spent much of his time with Cox Automotive in client-facing roles, implementing performance data reviews tied to results and marketing campaigns as well as building partnerships.

Kibler’s most recent roles with Cox included senior director of enterprise client solutions and senior director of enterprise dealer partnerships. Before joining Cox’s Manheim Auctions in 2005, he served three years as marketing director for Nelson Automotive, an Oklahoma-based dealership group.

“The growth at Location Services is off the charts and evolving rapidly,” Kibler said, “and I look forward to contributing to the company by aligning marketing, data, client business reviews and strategy. By creating more in-depth scorecards and leveraging data, we will provide our clients with better decision-making tools, which makes them more informed.”

Kibler will report to president and chief revenue officer Jeff Bescher, who said the new vice president’s “vision and experience” and “ability to build alignment across all channels and platforms” are instrumental to the enhancing the company’s position in the industry.”

Chief remarketing officer Paul Seger, who said he has a long history of working with Kibler during Kibler’s tenure with Cox, called him “a consummate professional. As we continue to build out our Pinnacle Remarketing brand and grow our third-party business, having Erik and his team in place is invaluable. The products he will produce and share with our clients will be a key differentiator for us.”
