In the wake of gaining full ownership of Alliance Inspection Management this month, Cox Automotive is moving to up its inspection game.

Cox’s Manheim Auctions has announced the formation of two new teams designed to “deliver a seamless, unified experience” for dealers and commercial clients across all channels.

The Manheim Mobile Inspections team — which the company claims is now the industry’s largest offsite inspection force — will be led by Chris “CB” Brown, a Manheim veteran as a general manager and market center leader.

The Remote Dealer Services team was created to expand Manheim’s dealer support, Cox said, assisting sellers who begin their journeys outside the gate and helping maximize the profitability of every VIN in the Manheim marketplace.

“It’s a transformational moment, as these teams will be instrumental in bringing unmatched expertise and commitment directly to our clients, wherever they do business,” Cox Automotive senior vice president of digital and supply chain Joe Kichler said. “CB’s strategic vision and decades of auction experience will not only fuel the highest standards of consistency in inspections and trust in the marketplace nationwide, but also help create a smarter, more connected Manheim.

“Along with the evolution of our Remote Dealer Services team, we’re delivering a seamless, unified experience that empowers every dealer and commercial client to succeed — now and for the next 80 years.”

In a news release, Manheim said the Mobile Inspections team brings its existing offsite inspection force together with the more than 300 outside-the-gate inspectors who have come on board as part of the AiM acquisition to deliver inspection services to clients from large OEMs to small independent dealerships.

Brown’s career with Manheim spans nearly 30 years, including stints as general manager of Manheim Riverside and leader of the Southern California Market Center. The company cited his strategic vision, operational excellence and a deep commitment to clients.

“Our vision is to be our clients’ ally, partner and advocate,” he said, “and we’ll be showing up in even more meaningful ways, ready to help them win like never before.”

Cox said the Remote Dealer Services team, led by Manheim Digital vice president Connie Suozzo, is dedicated to supporting sellers who begin their wholesale experience from their own lots by ensuring every VIN is strategically positioned for success within the Manheim marketplace, regardless of where each vehicle ultimately sells.

The team will partner with clients, offering “hands-on support and data-fueled recommendations to help them maximize results,” the company said, and will work closely with Manheim’s physical auctions, the Mobile Inspections team and other Manheim teams.

“Clients will see their level of service get better and better,” Suozzo said. “Whether it’s a small independent dealer or large franchise, Manheim will be their trusted partner, helping them succeed by leveraging the power of our marketplace, where digital innovation meets physical excellence.”
