Montway Auto Transport has shipped more than 1 million vehicles since it was founded in 2007, compiling more than 80,000 five-star reviews, an A-plus Better Business Bureau rating and a Net Promoter Score of 75 in the process.
It has appeared on the Inc. 5000 list six times, including the past four years, and was named the 2025 Auto Transport Services Company of the Year by Auto Business Outlook.
That’s the result of a collaborative model, the company said, built on values, vision and technology, driven by its leadership.
Chairman and CEO Tom Gartland, who previously served as president of North America for Avis Budget Group, was recently featured on the cover of American Executive magazine, as well as in a story that profiled the collaboration of the Montway leadership team and its focus on inclusive leadership and tactical alignment.
“Leadership is about understanding your limitations and surrounding yourself with people who complement your skill set,” Gartland said. “You need diversity, not just in backgrounds, but in thought processes and approaches. That’s how you build an organization capable of innovation and sustained growth.”
In a release, Montway highlighted its top executives, the “strategic trio” of Gartland, chief financial officer Alberto Anguiano and chief information officer Eftim Eftimov.
The company said they “champion an integrated leadership philosophy” that aligns business strategy, financial discipline and digital transformation and has positioned the business for “sustainable growth across both consumer and enterprise markets, with an infrastructure primed to scale.”
Anguiano leads Montway’s financial planning, analysis and strategic initiatives, including guiding mergers and acquisitions that have expanded Montway’s market presence — most recently guiding last month’s acquisition of luxury auto transport brokerage Angels Moving Autos.
The company said Anguiano is “known for linking fiscal discipline with cultural health” and helps guide its “operational maturity” and readiness for new market opportunities.
“Montway’s growth is the result of disciplined financial stewardship and a company culture that values people as much as performance,” Anguiano said. “We’re building a business that’s as financially resilient as it is customer focused.”
Eftimov is charged with advancing Montway’s digital transformation with a technology-forward mindset. The company said his handiwork includes Montway Automation Portal, a proprietary platform designed to streamline quoting, tracking and transport management for large dealer groups, which Montway said has powered rapid growth in its logistics division.
Eftimov also leads system integrations designed to improve visibility and coordination across Montway’s transport network.
“Our focus on technology will continue to drive our growth,” Eftimov said. “Whether it’s automating processes for dealerships or providing real-time status tracking for consumers, we’re committed to pushing the industry forward.”
