DETROIT -

Dealers and wholesalers who purchase vehicles through Ally Financial’s SmartAuction now have a new option for transport: ShipCarsNow.

SmartAuction recently added ShipCarsNow as a transportation provider, connecting dealers with a vast vehicle delivery network directly from the auction site.

ShipCarsNow, a Union Pacific subsidiary, can provide reliable and economical transport throughout the United States via door-to-door rail and direct truck service.

Officials highlighted ShipCarsNow is networked with other Class I railroads and more than 7,000 trucks to provide SmartAuction users with “unparalleled” capability to transport vehicles safely and securely, supported by 24-7 customer service.

“We’re pleased to add ShipCarsNow to the SmartAuction platform and provide our users an additional resource to obtain competitive price quotes for their transportation needs,” SmartAuction vice president Steve Kapusta said. “As the used-vehicle market continues to gain momentum, adding the ShipCarsNow team to SmartAuction provides another value added service to help dealers find the right vehicles for their marketplace.”

Also commenting on the development was ShipCarsNow president Marty Coalson, who recently was promoted to the position, as Auto Remarketing reported here.

“ShipCarsNow’s presence on SmartAuction underscores our commitment to making auto transport a seamless option for online buyers and sellers,” Coalson said

“This provides online buyers and sellers with more options, and makes it easy for dealers to ship inventory across the state or coast-to-coast with a company they trust,” Coalson went on to say.
