ReviverMX sells digital license plates allowing motor vehicle administrations to digitize vehicle registration renewals and other transactions. The company last month said it began supporting Arizona digital initiatives such as All in for Arizona Schools.

On Thursday, ReviverMX said Arizona State University would offer ReviverMX’s Rplate to its members.

The Arizona State agreement calls for Reviver to supply the university with various designs of Rplates. Each of those designs can change background colors and display Arizona Department of Traffic-approved, ASU-tuned banner messages.

The Rplate is currently cleared for sale in California and Arizona, and out of Arizona State’s more than 500,000 alumni worldwide, more than 300,000 live in California and Arizona.

Penetration of ASU-themed metal plate sales to Arizona-based alumni has been approximately 10% to 11% so far.

Arizona State assistant vice president, Martha Byrd said the university was excited to offer the Rplate to its alumni.

“With their many ASU-tuned features, Rplates will extend our reach to California alumni and provide a visually compelling alternative to the metal plates we typically offer Arizona-based alumni — and a great way for our members to express their affinity with their alma mater,” Byrd said in a news release.

Reviver founder and chief strategy officer Neville Boston said the company began selling Rplates in Arizona in 2019 and was excited to offer the special ASU-themed Rplates to alumni members.

“With more than 50,000 ASU alumni in California, their reach to alumni for ASU-themed plates will grow as adoption of our DLPs advances nationally,” Boston said, adding that Rplates are an efficient time- and-hassle-saving tool for vehicle owners.

“Rplates are perfect customizable platforms for displaying warmth and loyalty,” Boston said. “We look forward to establishing additional agreements of this type in the future.”

The basic Reviver Rplate can renew registration electronically, doing that without the need for stickers and most other DMV paperwork.

The Rplate can be customized to create different  background colors and banner messages.

Reviver's Rplate Pro adds several telematics features. Those include trip and mileage tracking and the ability to display stolen and amber alerts, tell you where you left your car, and inform you if anyone has driven the vehicle outside of a preselected radius.

Both plates are linked to Reviver's secure server. They are managed through an encrypted app.

Sold in California and Arizona, Reviver’s Rplate and Rplate Pro are legal for driving across all 50 states. Reviver said 11 additional states are engaged in various stages of adoption.

ReviverMX, which sells digital license plates allowing motor vehicle administrations to digitize vehicle registration renewals and other transactions, is now supporting Arizona educational initiatives.

Madison Education Foundation will offer Reviver’s Rplate digital license plate for sale to help support the All in for Arizona Schools initiative.

According to ReviverMX, the plates will contribute to help what it describes as the next generation of big thinkers, go-getters and problem solvers.

All in for Arizona Schools supports Title 1, first-year public school teachers and helps build out capacity in the classroom. Rplate sales will aide in the advancement of related educational initiatives and support the All in for Arizona Schools mission.

Reviver's Rplate and the more advanced Rplate Pro, which also offer a personalization features that customers manage from their smart phones, are currently being sold for vehicles registered in California and Arizona and on commercial vehicles in Texas. Eleven other states are engaged in adopting Reviver plates.

Rplate sales are taking place through channels such as automotive dealerships, professional sports teams, college alumni associations, small- to medium-sized commercial fleets, and affinity groups such as Madison Education Foundation.

Madison Education Foundation revenue from the associated specialty plates will fund activities, projects or lessons for K-8 students. Reviver and MEF will work to enable the Rplates to support marketing campaigns to bring year-round awareness to All in for Arizona Schools initiatives.

Reviver founder & CSO Neville Boston said Reviver looks forward to working with the All in for Arizona Schools team at Madison Education Foundation.

“Education is fundamentally important to us all, and working with Madison Education Foundation to enable our plates to make a difference in this effort is hugely rewarding,” Boston said in a news release. “Supporting education benefits us all. It also aligns perfectly with Reviver's social responsibility initiatives.”

Integration could improve speed, accuracy of auto insurance quotes

By integrating TransUnion’s DriverRisk into its current offerings, DealerPolicy now has access to violation data that it says speeds up the quote-generating process. The integration also brings the benefit of increasing provided quote accuracy, according to the company.

DealerPolicy, an insurance marketplace for automotive retailers and their customers, says the right data is important to providing quick and accurate insurance quotes based on the full risk profile of an applicant. TransUnion's insurance business unit executive vice president Mark McElroy said in a news release that prefilling violation details affordably into an insurance application for consumer verification helps result in a more accurate insurance quote. That improves the consumer experience, McElroy said.

“With today’s integration announcement, DealerPolicy can provide quotes based on a more complete view of a customer’s risk profile.” McElroy said in a news release.

TransUnion’s DriverRisk product family covers the personal, commercial and life insurance industries. The company says DriverRisk helps bring a more complete picture to carriers by combining court records with state motor vehicle reports. Bringing together TransUnion’s collection of traffic-related court records with MVRs provides a more comprehensive view of a person’s driving record at a reduced cost, according to the company.

Car buyers, while at the car dealership, can review competitive auto insurance quotes and speak with a licensed insurance agent with the DealerPolicy technology platform.

The company says car buyers can save on their monthly premium when they can view competing quotes from various insurance carriers and bundle their auto, home and other policies.

Those savings average about $60 per month, according to an internal DealerPolicy analysis. The company says buyers can use those savings toward purchasing upgrades or warranties for their new car.

“As the insurance solution partner for automotive retailers, we are constantly innovating to provide faster, more convenient, and more integrated solutions,” said DealerPolicy chief product officer Mike Burgiss. “TransUnion’s DriverRisk product helps us make the process even faster while improving customer satisfaction. That’s a win for the customer and for the dealership.”
