HAMDEN, Conn. — Central Auto Auction recently joined the AuctionACCESS program, a move officials said makes it the only facility in Connecticut to be a part of that program.

"As the sole AuctionACCESS auction in Connecticut, we anticipate a dramatic increase in market share through the expansion of the market we serve," stated Peter Saldamarco, president and founder of the auction.

"Central's impeccable reputation and credentials have earned us the privilege to participate in this exclusive program," he added.

Central AA also added a new program called CONNECT to its services. This selling program uses three online auctions — OVE.com, SmartAuction and OPENLANE — to help dealers move aged inventory in an easy fashion that allows them to make the most profits, according to the company.

Essentially, dealers' inventories are simultaneously sent out to the aforementioned channels, and this is done "without sacrificing retail exposure."

Officials suggested that CONNECT is beneficial in that it offers inspection and certification, expands the seller's audience reach to outside markets and takes inquiries from buyers.

If a vehicle hasn't sold by day 37, CONNECT provides live-lane exposure, which acts as a safety net, as Central AA put it.

"Central developed this revolutionary program to help our wholesale customers eliminate aged units while maximizing their profits and minimizing their workload," Saldamarco noted.

"As a family-owned and operated business, I make it my business to maintain Central Auto Auction as the most technologically advanced auto auction in the region," he added.
