Sales Lift for CarMax Auctions

Sharing some sales data, in the most recently completed fiscal year (which ended Feb. 28) CarMax Auctions moved 263,061 wholesale units, up 33.3-percent year-over-year. During the prior fiscal year, the company moved 197,382 wholesale units, which was a 1.7-percent hike.

When asked how CarMax Auctions can serve as a viable source for dealers in a used-car market that is extremely supply challenged, Wilson said: "We offer vehicles of many makes, models, year and mileage, and provide our dealers with free AutoCheck vehicle history reports prior to the auctions.”

He also indicated that the “force behind getting dealers into the lanes” is the CarMax Auctions’ website.
