MILTON, Ontario -
In what is designed to provide greater “peace-of-mind” in the wholesale marketplace, a new CarProof Dealer Lane was launched at a recent Manheim Toronto Thursday “Nite Sale," and the auction’s general manager revealed that the facility will start implementing the CarProof Dealer Lane at its usual Tuesday weekly sale on Jan. 11.
A CarProof CLAIMS report was included with every unit in the CarProof Dealer Lane, officials said. This report is designed to foster greater “peace-of-mind” among online and in-lane buyers of dealer-consigned vehicles.
“We have been using CarProof reports to assist in applying the appropriate selling disclosures for our customers as well as through our arbitration process,” noted Steve Macaluso, Manheim Toronto’s general manager.
“By offering a detailed CarProof vehicle history report up front, arbitrations have been drastically reduced allowing dealers to buy with more confidence,” he continued.
The CarProof Dealer Lanes are among the many endeavors Manheim has begun to promote “full disclosure” throughout the wholesale marketplace. Manheim has also implemented a CarProof Kiosk and has started including these reports on all models imported from the U.S. as well as in arbitrations.
“As other provinces across Canada are moving towards vehicle disclosure legislation, Manheim is helping to lead by example,” shared CarProof president Paul Antony.
“By providing an increased level of disclosure at the auction, Manheim in not only solidifying their reputation as a trustworthy business partner but they are also helping to improve the overall image of the industry,” he added.
