It takes a certain level of commitment to continuously invest in learning the latest trends, opinions and strategies that can place you at the forefront of your industry

In the world of automotive marketing, the game changes at a dizzying pace. New technologies are being developed for online marketing as we speak, and knowing about them isn’t enough. Knowing how to use them in the context of traditional advertising and new media is what makes the difference.

As marketers, our resources are vast. We choose carefully to make sure we are getting the richest, most current and dependable information for the time we have to spend each day. We all follow @mashable on Twitter and on Youtube. We join groups on LinkedIn to participate in relevant discussions, and we check our LinkedIn headlines every day. Everyone has his or her favorite sites, bloggers, and newsfeeds.

One of the smartest things we do at Potratz is to share what we know. Once a week, we gather all departments for a few impromptu presentations of new information. Because anyone can be called upon to present, everyone must come prepared. That’s a huge incentive to be always learning and understanding. We often apply what we learn to the work we are doing, and have even developed new services to offer our dealers from the ideas shared at these meetings.
