FRANKLIN, Tenn. -

In an effort to further enhance company expansion outside of the country, CARS Recon announced Tuesday that it has selected its chief operating officer to head its new dealer services entity.

The company said it has chosen Harold Varvel, who most recently served a COO, to take on the role of managing director of dealer services at the company.

The newly launched service for automotive dealers aims to enhance long established company operations in both the United Kingdom and the U.S., CARS Recon said.

Varvel first joined the CARS Recon management team in January 2016 to serve as company senior vice president of finance and administration, according to the CARS Recon website.

In 2013, Varvel began as general manager at Columbus Fair Auto Auction and held that role prior to joining the company.

Varvel brings extensive auto auction and auto dealership experience to his new role that can help grow the new CARS Dealer Services division, CARS Recon explained.

The company said that its newly introduced CARS Dealer Services entity operates independently to make room for increased focus on helping dealerships.

According to CARS Recon, CARS Dealer Services was constructed to put the company in a better position to deliver both labor management and materials to auto dealers.

“This addition to our line of services has great potential, and we look forward to Harold’s leadership in this venture.”  CARS Recon president and chief executive officer Ron Hope said in a news release.

CARS Recon’s new service will be available to dealerships on a fixed-price basis, and CARS Recon will likely expand older offered services as well, according to Hope.
