SAVANNAH, Ga. -

Georgia is a special place for e-commerce platform Carvana. That’s where the company sold its first car, in Atlanta, in 2013.

The company has come a long way since then, and on Wednesday, it opened in Savannah, Ga., marking its 100th market.

The move strengthens Carvana’s already existing presence in the Southeast, as this move means the company now also offers vehicle delivery to Hilton Head Island, S.C., Tuscaloosa, Ala., Athens, Ga., and its 100th market, Savannah, Ga. (in addition to its existing Southeastern markets and beyond).

“Georgia is a special place for us because it’s where we sold our very first car, in Atlanta, in 2013,” Carvana founder and chief executive officer Ernie Garcia said in a news release. “Being able to return to the state where it all started, for market No. 100 just six years later, is incredible. Customers in the southeast have continued to welcome Carvana, so we’re looking forward to bringing the new way to buy a car to even more customers in Hilton Head Island, Tuscaloosa, Athens and Savannah.”

Carvana wanted to celebrate its 100th market launch in Savannah. Greenbriar Children’s Center promotes the healthy development of children and helps families that need items such as food staples, toiletries, clothing and bedding. Carvana marked its new launch by meeting 100 of the needs on Greenbriar’s wish list.
