SANTA MONICA, Calif. -

In an expansion to their partnership, Fair is now offering new loyalty rewards to Uber drivers.

The vehicle subscription company announced Thursday that it is providing Fair Credit rewards to eligible Uber Pro drivers, who can use those credits towards paying for a Fair vehicle.

Fair will up its credit amounts to Uber Pro drivers based on their respective tier, be it Gold, Platinum or Diamond.

Uber started piloting the Uber Pro program last year to incentivize drivers for commitment and performance, providing them “unique rewards and access to higher education,” Fair said in a news release.

“Fair and Uber are committed to providing drivers from all walks of life the ability to choose a flexible vehicle solution for reasons like providing for their families, building their careers, or earning extra income,” Fair chief executive and founder Scott Painter said in a news release.

“Uber Pro recognizes drivers for their commitment and quality, and we're excited to bring Fair into the program's unique set of rewards,” he said.

Drivers must keep a rating of least 4.85 to utilize Uber Pro and adhere to other eligibility requirements which are available here.

As far as the Fair program, the credits are non-transferrable and cannot be redeemed for cash.

“Rewards depend on where Uber drivers intend to drive with Fair. Fair offers a program for Uber driver-partners in California and Georgia, which lets drivers schedule a pickup time at a Fair Station to access a rideshare-ready Fair vehicle for an all-in cost of $195 per week (excluding taxes and the cost of gas), including insurance and unlimited miles — with only a reimbursable $195 security deposit due up front,” Fair said in a news release.

“Fair offers Uber drivers in select markets outside of California and Georgia flexible access to a Fair vehicle for UberX, which starts at $130 per week, and allows in-app vehicle selection and optional insurance,” it said.

In the news release, Fair provided an outline of how the credits work, based on Uber Pro tier. That can be found below:

Uber Pro Gold

  • Fair in CA and GA: Drivers receive $10 in Fair Credits at the end of each month as long as they maintain Uber Pro Gold status and have a Fair car at the end of the month.
  • Fair in select markets outside CA and GA: Drivers receive an automatic discount for $120 off their initial Fair start payment of $500.

Uber Pro Platinum

  • Fair in CA and GA: Drivers receive $20 in Fair Credits at the end of each month as long as they maintain Uber Pro Platinum status and have a Fair car at the end of the month.
  • Fair in select markets outside CA and GA: Drivers receive an automatic discount for $140 off their initial Fair start payment of $500.

Uber Pro Diamond

  • Fair in CA and GA: Drivers receive $40 in Fair Credits at the end of each month as long as they maintain Uber Pro Diamond status and have a Fair car at the end of the month.
  • Fair in select markets outside CA and GA: Drivers receive an automatic discount for $160 off their initial Fair start payment of $500.

This is the latest expansion in the ongoing partnership between Uber and Fair.

In May, Fair announced that Uber drivers in select markets throughout the U.S. will now be able to use a pre-owned vehicle for ride-sharing through Fair for free for the first week.

The program debuted in January in California and was being scaled elsewhere in the U.S., Fair said in a news release in late May. And there was no credit requirement. More details on that are avaialble here

The two companies have been partnering for some time,  as it was officially announced in early 2018 that Fair had purchaed the active lease portfolio of Xchange Leasing, which was an Uber subsidiary.
