NEW YORK -

IHS Markit has worked closely with Novation Analytics in recent years. The companies have helped original equipment manufacturers and suppliers meet the challenges of emissions compliance, said IHS Markit vice president of automotive planning solutions Tim Armstrong.

The companies will continue working closely together, as information and analytics company IHS Markit announced on Thursday it had acquired Novation Analytics, which provides software, data analysis and advisory services to the automotive industry.

The modeling of vehicle energy efficiency and CO2 emissions compliance is the focus of Auburn Hills, Mich.-based Novation Analytics. Greg Pannone and Heidi Schroeder lead the team.

“Having the team on board will help us scale our capabilities as we plan to bring new solutions to the market beyond the CO2 emissions sector,” IHS Markit’s Armstrong said in a news release.

Pannone added, “Car emission compliance is becoming ever more challenging for auto manufacturers.”

He continued, “Being part of the IHS Markit family enables us to provide a more holistic emissions modeling and simulation for automotive manufacturers and suppliers.”
