AUBURN, Wash. -

DAA Seattle has appointed a new assistant general manager with human resources experience, the company announced Monday.

Chosen for the position is Brian McConkey, who joined the auction in 2013.

Prior to joining DAA Seattle, McConkey spent time at Nordstrom, where he worked in corporate human resources at the company’s downtown Seattle flagship store. Furthermore, he was responsible for interviewing, hiring and onboarding new employees, according to DAA Seattle.

“Brian is a natural leader who has earned the respect of his peers,” DAA Seattle general manager Dave Blake said in a news release. “I appreciate his openness to understanding an individual’s challenges, his ability to study opportunities for improvement, and his innovative mind; he is a perfect fit for the AGM position here in Seattle, and I look forward to growing success in our partnership,” he adds.

In his new role, not only will McConkey work in human resources as DAA Seattle assistant GM, he will also help with the management of IT, marketing, industry events, operational efficiencies, competitive analysis and auction safety, according to the auction.
