PHOENIX -

Andrew Christian likes Ready Logistics’ “Gung Ho! spirit.”

Christian is executive director of the Marine Raider Foundation, which supports active duty and medically retired U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations Command Raiders and their families. The foundation also supports families of Raiders who have lost their lives serving the nation.

Ready Logistics, a Cox Automotive brand, provides full-service vehicle shipping needs for the automotive industry. The company is the title sponsor of the 11th annual Swing Fore Our Heroes golf tournament, and the Nov. 2 event in Scottsdale hosted more than 150 golfers and raised $100,000 for the Marine Raider Foundation and Mission2Alpha.

Ready Logistics’ support and spirit has been “critical to accomplishing our mission to help those who have sacrificed the most,” said Christian, who is a retired lieutenant colonel from the U.S. Marine Corps.

Part of U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations Command, or MARSOC, the Marine Raider Regiment is named for the elite World War II Marine Raiders unit. The organization since 2012 has provided more than $4 million in support to MARSOC Marines, sailors and their families. Mission2Alpha, a nonprofit organization, serves injured military and first responders on the road to recovery.

Associate vice president for Central Dispatch/Ready Logistics Bob Taar said supporting the communities that Ready Logistics serves “is in our company’s DNA.”

“Helping the heroes who sacrifice for us daily is a cause that our employees, clients and vendors have rallied around,” Taar said in a news release.

Cox Automotive companies Manheim Phoenix and Manheim Tucson also served as tournament sponsors.

“Our teams at Manheim Phoenix and Manheim Tucson want to thank MARSOC Raiders and their families for their service to our country,” Manheim Phoenix general manager JD Daniels said.

Daniels added, “We are committed to providing support to the Raiders and giving back to those that gave selflessly to us.”

The Cox Automotive teams in Arizona also support additional non-profit organizations such as the American Red Cross, AZStRUT, Habitat for Humanity, Phoenix Tool Bank, Special Olympics of Arizona, Special Olympics, St. Mary’s Food Bank, Toys for Tots United Food Bank, and Youth4Troops.
