AUSTIN, Texas -

Seeking to help customers prepare for the “new normal” in travel, Silvercar by Audi is introducing its Contactless Rental and Delivery to You service.

With the offerings, which are part of Silvercar by Audi’s Responsible Travel initiative, travelers will be able to follow social distancing guidelines while traveling with confidence and peace of mind.

Silvercar’s products include premium rental car service provider Silvercar by Audi and Dealerware, the connected car platform for modern fleet management.

Silvercar by Audi is an app-based premium car rental service that provides Audi vehicles. The company says it designed the service for modern travelers “seeking style and performance without the traditional hassle of renting cars.” Customers can download the Silvercar app for iPhone or Android.

Silvercar by Audi’s Contactless Rental is available for local renters at U.S. locations. The service is a touchless method for booking, locating and unlocking Silvercar rentals through use of a mobile app.

That, according to the company, provides a worry-free, no contact rental experience.

It also allows customers an option to minimize interaction with others while at the same time gaining “a premium rental experience,” the company said.

With Delivery to You, customers will be able to request that their Audi be delivered to them and then retrieved from their preferred location at the end of their rental.

That delivery and pickup service is available at all Silvercar locations. Temporary exceptions are New York City (Manhattan and Brooklyn), Newark and Miami (South Beach) beginning May 21.

Before it launched these product enhancements, Silvercar unveiled additional policies that could help customers with essential travel needs: Those are no-fee, one-way drives and extended rentals beyond 14 days.

Silvercar Inc. chief executive officer Matt Carpenter said the company wanted to expand upon its contactless capabilities to make its customers’ and employees’ health and safety a priority.

“Silvercar’s Responsible Travel initiative allows customers to continue to socially distance after they decide it is safe to travel again,” Carpenter said in a news release.

With touchless offerings that minimize human interaction in anticipation of when and where travel will resume, Silvercar continues emphasizing customer and employee health and safety. To show its commitment to “upholding the highest standards of cleanliness,” Silvercar published 19-step vehicle cleaning process and face-covering requirements for all employees at all locations.

All Silvercar customers will continue to receive no fuel upcharges, no mileage restrictions, a flat one-time fee for toll charges and no fees for car seat rentals. Prices start at $49 a day.

Delivery to You service is available on rentals at participating locations on a case-by-case basis for rentals starting on or after May 21. The cost for Delivery to You will vary depending on the drop-off and pick up location. A limited delivery area is specific to each Silvercar by Audi location.
