FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -

AutoNation has a new chief operating officer.

The retailer said Wednesday afternoon it has promoted Western region president Lance Iserman to the position.

Effective Thursday, Iserman — who has been with AutoNation for more than 15 years — will be the company’s executive vice president of sales and COO.

He replaces Bill Berman as COO; Berman resigned from his post as AutoNation president and COO in mid-May.

Moving into the position of Western region president is Steve Kwak, who has been a part of the management team there for 12 years.

“We are pleased to announce the promotion of Lance and Steve, which compliments our current experienced executive management and regional leadership teams, which have an average of over 15 years of service, and 90 percent were promoted from within”  AutoNation chief executive Mike Jackson said in a news release.
