Although he has seen a drop in the supply of off-lease units — often the bread-and-butter of the certified pre-owned-eligible pool — Audi Canada’s Jonathan Breton has noticed that his brand’s year-to-date CPO sales have still managed to climb nearly 3 percent over the same period of 2011.  

“Supply continues to be a challenge, but we are taking steps to support dealer used-car inventory in conjunction with our own new vehicle sales portfolio renewal efforts,” said Breton, the company’s manager of certified pre-owned and corporate sales.

More specifically, Audi Canada sold 354 CPO units in October, up 6.6 percent from October 2011. Through 10 months, it has moved 3,572 certified vehicles, up 2.9 percent year-over-year.

Several other brands also reported strong CPO results to Auto Remarketing Canada; including Volvo Canada, which notched double-digit-percentage gains in October.

The brand moved 120 certified units last month, up 20.8 percent year-over-year. Year-to-date sales have climbed 3.1 percent at 1,091 sales.

“Volvo Canada’s industry-leading CPO program continues to attract buyers looking for a premium luxury vehicle experience with the peace of mind that comes with buying new,” said Emanuel Lichtinshtein, Volvo Canada’s national fleet sales, CPO & remarketing manager, “The double-digit growth experienced in October shows that its popularity shows no signs of waning.”

At Volkswagen Canada, dealers posted 1,132 certified sales in October, compared to 1,031 CPO sales in October 2011.
Through 10 months, VW has sold 11,692 certified units in Canada this year, up from 9,691CPO sales in the same period of 2011.

Toyota Canada sold 1,905 CPO units last month, compared to 1,823 CPO sales in October 2011.

Year-to-date, Toyota has moved 21,256 certified units, an increase from 19,737 CPO sales through 10 months of 2011.

Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. reached 1,027 CPO sales for the month (up 40.7 percent), while its year-to-date sales have climbed 268 percent to 10,286 sales.

Mazda Canada sold 304 certified vehicles in October and pushed its year-to-date sum to 2,369 CPO sales.

Over at Mercedes-Benz Canada, the Mercedes-Benz Pre-Owned division moved 1,272 units its strongest October ever and a 2.2-percent increase. Year-to-date, it has moved, 12,474 certified vehicles, up 11.1 percent.
