TYSONS, Va. -

The National Automobile Dealers Association has a new chief operating officer. Named to the post Monday was John Beckman, who has served as NADA’s senior vice president of dealership operations since October 2019, along with previous roles at the association.

Mike Stanton was NADA’s prior COO, and he moved into the role of president and chief executive officer on Jan. 1.

Taking over for Beckman in his prior post is Steve Park, who had been vice president of dealership operations and is now senior VP.

“John and Steve have led the dealership operations team to an exceptional year in 2020, and have contributed tremendously to NADA’s support of franchised dealers during an incredibly challenging year,” Stanton said in a news release.

“John is incredibly talented, innovative and dedicated, and he will be an invaluable asset in the role of COO as NADA continues the work of helping dealers succeed, and of promoting and enhancing the franchise system,” he said.

In addition to his time with NADA (which he rejoined in fall 2019), Beckman’s experience includes executive roles with J.D. Power, Keystone Automotive and Navy Federal Credit Union.

Meantime, Park joined NADA in 2018 and has led its NADA/ATD Academy and 20 Group operations within dealership operations ever since.

He joined NADA from CDK Global and has 25 years of experience in the auto industry.
