Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) says the annual Women of Color in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Conference honored four FCA technical business leaders for their career achievements.

The winners were honored in the categories of Technology All-Star Award and Technology Rising Star Award.

The Technology All-Star Award recognizes professionals demonstrating “excellence in the workplace and in their communities.” The winners in that category were Candyce Allen, project chief engineer – body engineering; and Saretta Wallace, process improvement manager – Sterling Heights Assembly Plant.

The Technology Rising Star Award recognizes early career professionals who are “helping to shape technology for the future.” Winners in that category were Laura Fabian Guevara, product engineer – Jeep Grand Cherokee; and Madhuri Ponugoti, powertrain quality data specialist.

FCA team members were recognized at the virtual Women of Color Technology Recognition Luncheon this past Friday.

Lottie Holland, who is FCA North America director, diversity, inclusion, engagement & talent acquisition, said the 2020 Women of Color STEM Awards “celebrate many of the country’s most promising and influential female technical business leaders.”

The Women of Color STEM Conference honors achievements of women in STEM professions. A conference goal is to highlight accomplishments of women in technical fields to ensure the accomplishments are visible to industry professionals, government officials and students.

“FCA is proud that our women technical leaders are regarded consistently among such accomplished professionals,” Holland said in a news release.

FCA said its employees over the years have earned technical professional recognition from diversity organizations such as BEYA. That according to FCA, shows the company’s commitment to developing its diverse workforce.
