The Appraisal Lane says problems such as fraud, crime and filing the appropriate sales and DMV paperwork result in an overwhelming and time-consuming private-party sales process.
At the same time, the company sourced a Black Book survey titled, "Trade Appraisal: How to Narrow the Gap to Close More Deals," which showed that getting the right trade-in appraisal was "very important or "extremely important" to almost half of consumers.
The Appraisal Lane says that in response, its new mobile app can help Orlando residents sell their cars quickly and easily. The Appraisal Lane, a mobile app-based community of appraisers who put guaranteed cash offers on used cars, has expanded to Orlando.
The company explained how the process works, noting that it starts with Orlando residents downloading The Appraisal Lane app to any smartphone. Then, residents connect with live appraisers, upload vehicle photos, and answer questions about condition.
In 30 minutes or less, residents receive a cash offer, redeemable for trade-in value. Or they can receive cash at a nearby dealership.
The ability to quickly and easily sell or trade-in their car is the biggest benefit The Appraisal Lane offers to Orlando residents, Risner said. Those residents can use the money as a down payment toward their next purchase, or they can put it in their bank account, The Appraisal Lane said.
“The Appraisal Lane enables Orlando residents to get real money for their used cars from real people, in real time, right from the convenience of their driveway,” said co-founder and chief executive Jeff Risner in a news release. “Our intelligence isn’t artificial, and people appreciate that."
The Appraisal Lane has delivered more than $2.5 billion so far in offers on used vehicles generated by live appraisers. Those appraisers evaluate thousands of cars each month across all makes and models.
In addition to its consumer app, the company also offers apps to help car dealerships manage used car inventory. The company’s showroom product, called TAL Dealers, connects dealerships with consumers. That creates what The Appraisal Lane describes as “a transparent, convenient, and consistent trade-in process for every shopper, regardless of the vehicle.”
TAL Buyers is another product that The Appraisal Lane says helps dealerships and dealer groups “source in-demand inventory from any curb.”
