LOS ANGELES -

AutoMobility LA announced Thursday that it is now accepting submissions for its upcoming 2018 Top Ten Automotive Startups Competition, which will recognize startups empowered to make significant advancements regarding the mobility space this fall.

This year, the company said that it has added an electrification solution category to honor companies in the EV and clean transportation sectors.

The competition’s finalists will be named in September just before the 2018 AutoMobility LA show, which will take place this November at the Los Angeles Convention Center. During the November event, the three finalist companies will get to pitch their ideas to judges from Microsoft, NVIDIA, Porsche Consulting and Sansea Consulting.

"Last year, we took this competition to the next level as we received a record number of submissions and selected powerful companies that are now making significant moves within the mobility sector," LA Auto Show and AutoMobility LA  president and chief executive officer Lisa Kaz said in a news release.

"We are excited to see what new innovations will present themselves this year and hope to see increased interest from new and creative startups."

Competition finalists will receive access to a complimentary exhibit space at the convention as well as an invitation to a VIP reception with the AutoMobility LA executive team, advisory board members, top investors and industry executives.

Previous competition winners include WayRay, HopSkipDrive and Innoviz Technologies.
