The Drive Options vehicle subscription program operated by Cleveland’s Bernie Moreno Auto Group and powered by Clutch Technologies has added a wrinkle to its subscription services.
Through Drive Options On Demand, consumers — be they Cleveland residents or visitors — will be able to access luxury vehicles for a short-term period and swap out cars as needed through the Drive Options app.
Members can access vehicles full time and then flip into other cars as they see fit.
The program is geared toward consumers who have “ever-changing vehicle needs,” Clutch said in a news release, and it utilizes technology from Clutch that helps dealers optimize fleet capacity and usage.
“Whether a local rental for a fun weekend in a high-end convertible, a sports car to rev up the driving experience, or an SUV to enjoy more space in style, Drive Options has the solution,” Clutch said. “Vehicle On Demand, part of the Clutch Subscription Platform, is a great way to maximize under-used capacity, whether in an existing subscription fleet or a loaner or courtesy fleet.”
Drive Options On Demand follows the more “traditional” subscription model of Drive Options launched in March 2018.
The new program also delivers the car to the subscriber’s home or office. And if the user is just visiting Cleveland, the vehicle can still be delivered to him or her, as well.
In the release, dealer group president Bernie Moreno pointed to the continual innovation required by dealers amid changes in technology and the buying habits of consumers.
“That is why I sold most of my dealerships and am making a play in the technology space in such a big way, such as leveraging Clutch’s Subscription Platform for this on-demand program,” Moreno said. “We are excited to bring more innovation to the vehicle resale space. Our long-term plan is to take the success of Drive Options Cleveland to other cities in Ohio.”
