DETROIT -

Carvana has brought its used-car buying platform to Detroit, the company announced on Wednesday.

Detroit-area car buyers can now search through vehicle inventory, finance a purchase and schedule home delivery all on Carvana.com.

“Detroit loves cars, and so do we, so we’re excited to be a part of the community and give residents their Saturdays back,” Carvana founder and chief executive officer Ernie Garcia said in a news release. “Making our Michigan debut – and 32nd market launch – in the Motor City felt right.”

In celebration of its newest market, on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Carvana will host Detroit residents at the Hart Plaza on the Detroit Riverfront to enjoy food, music and giveaways. The event is free and music will be provided by Bluewater Kings Band.
