Vehicle subscription app Fair has introduced a free delivery option in response to social-distancing measures from the COVID-19 pandemic.
With that option, which Fair said is an effort to “flatten the curve of COVID-19’s spread,” customers can order, sign for and receive their car without leaving their home.
Fair said customers using that option can experience the entire process — including getting approved, shopping, document signing and arranging for the car to be brought to the customer —with no negotiation, dealership visit or physical paperwork.
The company says its flexible month-to-month model means customers can turn their car in whenever they want.
Fair says that is “a powerful ability in a hard-to-predict economic environment.”
Fair’s global head of brand Ed Brojerdi said that when ridesharing and public transportation are not necessarily viable options during uncertain times, people who need an affordable car should be able to get one “without being locked into years of debt or even leaving the house.
“As this crisis continues to unfold, we will make sure that nobody has to compromise their health or finances just to have something to drive,” Brojerdi said in a news release.

After placing their order, Fair customers can request delivery by calling the company’s customer care team at (855) 539-9135. Cars eligible for delivery must be located less than 50 miles away from the delivery location, and delivery is not available in all areas. For those areas, customers can simply show their driver’s license at the dealership to pick up their car.
With Fair’s subscription model, pre-owned cars are available for an upfront start payment, a refundable security deposit and an ongoing monthly payment. Routine maintenance, roadside assistance and a limited warranty are included.
It is an alternative to a traditional lease or loan. Fair said both of those options lock consumers into a multi-year contract that it says is not compatible for many people in current volatile financial times.
In addition to free delivery, Fair customers through the end of April can receive $200 off the start payment for their Fair car by using code FAIR200 at checkout.
