WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. –
It was another record month for the certified pre-owned business, which appears to be headed toward heights never reached before, according to Autodata Corp.
Last month was the strongest November ever, with certified sales totaling 147,860 units, the firm said. This continues a string of records in the CPO market, including the best October ever just one month prior.
November’s total also marks a 7.3-percent year-over-year uptick and pushes the year-to-date sum to 1.68 million CPO sales.
Not only are year-to-date certified sales nearly 6-percent ahead of the year-ago pace, Autodata said, the market will likely eclipse 1.8 million units for the year, which has never been done before.
In 2011, there were 1.74 million certified units sold, which is the highest sum ever recorded.
That, of course, appears like it will be a short-lived record.
