BOSTON -

They may be known for cargo capacity, roominess and hauling capability, but sport utility vehicles apparently have another perk dealers can highlight: they're long-lasting.

A new study by auto research firm iSeeCars.com looked at the models where the percent of units at or above 200,000 miles is the highest.

Of the 14 models found to have at least 2 percent of their vehicles at 200,000 miles or higher, seven are SUVs.

The Ford Expedition tops the list — according to iSeeCars, 5.7 percent of Expeditions are over 200,000 miles.

For the average model industry-wide, the percent of cars with 200,000 plus miles is 1.3 percent.

"While any vehicle on today's market has the potential to travel 200,000 miles with proper maintenance and care, our list of longest-lasting vehicles shows that certain vehicles don't just have the potential—they do last well past 200,000 miles far more frequently than other models," Phong Ly, iSeeCars' chief executive officer, said in a news release.
