Auction Edge said on Tuesday that it tapped the former director of auction systems at Manheim to be its general manager of auction systems

Taking on the role within the division that includes the ASI business line based in North Carolina is Watson McClam.

“Watson brings decades of highly relevant experience to Auction Edge,” said David Weld, chief executive officer of Auction Edge. “We are thrilled that he has decided to join the company.  He will add value at all levels as an integral part of our management team.”

McClam added, “I could not be more excited about this opportunity. Auction Edge is an exciting, dynamic platform that has the potential to change this industry that I love, and I look forward to being a part of it.”

Lynn Weaver, general manager of Harrisburg Auto Auction, also commented on the hire. Weaver is both an Auction Edge board member and a customer of the national remarketing platform of more than 130 independent auctions in the United States and Canada. 

“Watson’s experience and capabilities will be a tremendous addition to Auction Edge,” Weaver said. “It speaks volumes about the future of Auction Edge that an executive of Watson’s caliber and background will be joining the company.”
