FRANKLIN, Tenn. -

The sales and marketing team at KCI Kansas City performed a live remix of Big & Rich's “Save a Horse” music video to announce that the band will headline this year's Guitars & Cars event scheduled for Aug. 15 and Aug. 16.

While the Big & Rich's music played across the auction arena prior to its recent Fish Fry promotional sale, members of KCI’s sales and marketing team entered the auction arena handing out $100 bills from a white1974 Cadillac Eldorado.

"We are excited to announce that Big and Rich will headline this year's Guitars & Cars event," Doug Doll, managing partner of KCI said in a news release.  "Big and Rich are America's Technicolor cowboys, brothers-in-arms in service to the creed that great music has no boundaries. Individually, John and Big Kenny are first-rate musicians, songwriters, producers, and entertainers. Together, they are one of the most truly original musical forces ever unleashed."

Big and Rich will perform just after KCI's corporate sale on Aug.15, according to KCI.

In addition to thousands of cars, the upcoming event will feature, several in-lane promotions and $20,000 in post-sale prizes. 

Akron auction raises funds for MS research

Meanwhile, in other auction news, Akron Auto Auction recently worked to raise more than $2,000 for multiple sclerosis research and treatment last month.

The auction recently announced that it generated a total $2,163 that to help promote MS research and programs designed to serve people in need.

As part of the AAA MS Awareness Cookout, dealers donated a set dollar amount per vehicle bought or sold during the sale. Donors received green and orange paper feet cut-outs that the auction hung on its registration department wall.

Additionally, following the sale the AAA MS Walk Team, called The Short Stack, walked the two-mile track with other local teams from the area.

Louisiana GM now IARA certified

Additionally, at Louisiana's 1st Choice Auto Auction, its general sales and marketing manager Jacob Warren, is now CAR certified by the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA), the company recently announced.

IARA’s education program has helped participants expand their knowledge for over a decade, the auction said.

"Congratulations to Jacob on becoming CAR certified by IARA," auction managing partner John Poteet said in a news release. "Jacob joins Mike McCollum, our fleet lease manager, as CAR certified making us one of the few auctions with more than one employee with this important designation. CAR certification shows our commitment to employee education and the highest level of service to our valued institutional accounts." 

Warren, who has been a member of the LFCAA team for 14 years, has held positions in just about each department.

Prior to his current role, Warren has served as an auction vehicle registration specialist, sales representative, marketing manager, business operations manager, and now general sales and marketing manager, according to LFCAA.
