RICHMOND, Va. -

CarLotz is launching a second hub in California, this time setting up shop in the nation’s second-largest metropolitan area.

The consignment-to-retail used-car marketplace is opening a hub Monday in Pomona, Calif., that will serve Greater Los Angeles.

This will complement the existing CarLotz hub in Bakersfield, which opened in June.

Plans for the LA-area hub were initially announced in July.

“As we saw earlier this year, Californians have embraced our unique consignment model with open arms,” CarLotz co-founder and chief executive officer Michael Bor said in a news release.

“With two hubs serving Los Angeles and Bakersfield, buyers and sellers can now utilize both hubs seamlessly to take advantage of our diverse range of used vehicles and our omni-channel approach,” he said.

Bor is among the diverse array of speakers included in the lineup at Cherokee Media Group’s Used Car Week event next month at Red Rock in Las Vegas.

He will be a panelist on the “Blurring of Retail & Wholesale Lines” discussion on both Nov. 17 and Nov. 18, along with leaders from CarOffer, Drivably, Carvana and MyDealerOnline.
