Auto Remarketing is recognizing the 2022 Women in Remarketing honorees in the May issue of the magazine, and will be posting Q&As with each of these outstanding leaders on the website.

Next up is Kaye Ceille, chief operating officer of Montway Auto Transport.

Auto Remarketing: What is the top trend you’re watching in remarketing/wholesale automotive this year?

Kaye Ceille: While there are many to note, the top trend I’m watching this year is how dealers are sourcing inventory during a time of significant challenges. The disruption of traditional supply sources and the emergence of new sales and reconditioning channels are changing how dealers find and transport the vehicles to keep their lots full and meet consumer needs. Sourcing local inventory and selling it locally will still occur, but not as often. Montway is seeing a demand for our agile transportation services to manage single and low-volume vehicle moves from coast to coast. Transportation providers like Montway off er national reach to support dealers, consignors and auctions.

AR: How has technology/innovation impacted your specific area of remarketing/wholesale the most?

Ceille: Historically, the auto transport industry relied on paper, spreadsheets, phone calls and manual processes to book orders, get status updates and manage inventory. This is a very inefficient process. As dealers reach further to source their used car inventory, they will need an auto transport partner that has the resources needed to manage the entire process as conveniently as possible. Ease of use, speed and transparency will be key. Montway is a leader in automotive transportation and continually invests in resources to drive success for our customers and move the industry forward. Montway Holdings is very excited that our technology company, Ship.Cars, has just launched products that provide access, efficiency and transparency to anyone needing to manage the movement of vehicles.

AR: What piece of career advice would you have for someone new to the industry?

Ceille: This industry is in the middle of digitization and disruption. My advice is to work to understand the fundamentals at a detailed level to embrace technology and change. As a new person in the remarketing industry, you have the advantage of not being anchored in traditional remarketing approaches. Make it a goal to keep current on new technology, new entrants in the marketplace and continually develop a network of industry contacts.

AR: What is your proudest moment/accomplishment, career-wise?

Ceille: My career has been fi lled with many diverse challenges and overcoming them as a team is always a proud moment. It’s an honor to work with talented people and help them achieve more than they thought possible. I’ve led teams to achieve $100M growth targets, redesign operations and migrate from manual to digital processes. Even a goal that seems impossible is achievable when you break it down tactically, follow a plan and empower the team to move with speed and agility. My proudest moment is watching the transformation of people believing in themselves, demonstrating pride in their accomplishments and reaping the rewards of their efforts.
