TrueCar announced two hires Thursday to boost its automaker partnerships and help build out its insurance vertical, respectively.

The company named former Fair.com, Esserman Automotive Group and Land Rover North America executive Syl Raymond as senior director of OEM and has appointed former Tesla and Marsh executive Nik Huyeng as vice president of insurance and ancillary.

TrueCar said the hires will help it expand automaker relationships and insurance offerings.

“It’s mission critical for TrueCar to help our customers save time and money, and bringing Nik and Syl onto the team reflects our commitment to unlocking the full potential of the TrueCar ecosystem,” TrueCar founder and CEO Scott Painter said in a news release.

“Nik’s track record building digitally integrated insurance solutions is exactly what our customers need and what TrueCar is built for. Syl’s unmatched OEM experience unlocks revenue opportunities we’ve only begun to tap, while adding real value for everyone on the platform,” Painter said.

Raymond’s most recent post was as chief strategy officer at Better Car People. His experience includes nearly two decades with CDK Global, including time as vice president of global enterprise solutions.

Huyeng served more than 13 years in roles where automotive, insurance and financial services meet. That includes four years at Tesla, where the built the automaker’s European insurance company from the ground up.
