Vehicle subscription provider Autonomy continues to expand its fleet.
This time, it is bringing more electricity.
Autonomy said Wednesday it has adding Volkswagen ID.4 electric vehicles to its offering on the app, starting the launch in California before likely adding more VW models in additional markets.
“Consumers increasingly want an easier, more transparent way of getting a vehicle,” Autonomy CEO Fred Weick said in a news release. “With Autonomy, they not only get that, but they also get flexibility in how they address their mobility needs.
“Subscriptions give customers another option, providing a hassle-free and friendly way to get a car. It is a less complicated and hence faster solution than traditional car buying or leasing.”
Other EVs available in the Autonomy fleet includes such models as the Tesla Model 3, Ford Mustang Mach-E, BMW i4, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Chevrolet Equinox EV.

After an initial focus on electric vehicles, Autonomy said earlier this month it is adding gas-powered vehicles to its car subscription platform, starting with a range of Ford models.
Those include the gas-powered Mustang, Ranger, F-150, Bronco Sport, Escape and Explorer.
Los Angeles-based dealer Galpin Motors provided vehicles for this first phase of gas-powered cars on the Autonomy platform. Those vehicles are now available in California.
Autonomy, which also operates in Arizona, Florida, Texas, New York, North Carolina and Washington, plans to partner with other dealerships throughout the country to expand its internal combustion engine options.
