The auto auction industry continues to grow digitally, but the buying, selling and servicing of vehicles still requires boots on the ground, physical infrastructure and land.

To that end, Greater Rockford Auto Auction is adding six acres to its parking lot, allowing for additional vehicle capacity and more space on its main lot for auction operations.

The Illinois auction recently broke ground on the expansion, which will help GRAA “grow alongside our customers,” says president Ryan Clark.

“For 52 years, we’ve always been about putting our customers first and this expansion allows us to continue to grow alongside our customers” Clark said in a news release. “As the wholesale marketplace continues to evolve, GRAA plans to continue to invest to give our customers and employees the best auction experience in the market.”

General manager Chad Anderson added, “Our lot expansion aligns well with our company value of strategic growth. The additional six acres supports our growth as a business and allows us to better serve our customers and improve our auction operation efficiencies.”

GRAA plans to finish the expansion before winter and move more than 700 vehicles to the new lot by the end of next month.
