Carfax & Volvo Renew CPO Deal

In a move announced Monday, Carfax and Volvo Cars of North America have renewed their certified pre-owned agreement.
Since 1999, certified Volvo dealers have run a Carfax Vehicle History Report on all Volvo cars submitted for certification, officials said.
And under the renewed agreement, Volvo and its certified dealers are providing consumers with free Carfax Reports for every certified Volvo vehicle.
One Volvo dealer expressed enthusiasm for the news: “We put our customers in top-quality cars,” said Jon Holl, general manager at Don Beyer Volvo. “For more than 10 years, Carfax Reports have helped reinforce this fact to anyone considering a certified Volvo or any other pre-owned unit on our lot. Carfax is a must-have for our staff and is the name people trust.”
And the CPO market as a whole continues to gain steam as 2013 progresses.
Fresh off the best January in the history of the certified pre-owned market — which had followed record full-year CPO sales in 2012 — dealers had the most successful February ever in their certified operations, according to Autodata Corp. Not to mention, it was also the strongest daily selling rate ever, Autodata indicated.
The firm said there certified sales reached 156,947 units in February for a 5.1-percent year-over-year gain. Through two months, CPO sales have climbed nearly 10 percent from the year-ago, hitting 307,572 vehicles.
This compares to 280,454 certified sales through February 2012.
As for the daily selling rate for the month, Autodata indicated this best-ever figure was at 6,539.
