DETROIT — As the dog days of summer roll along, AOL Autos pinpointed what site reviewers believe are the 20 best new-vehicle deals for August, analyzing cash rebates and financing options.

The site selected four vehicles made by Ford, including the Editor's Pick as the top overall deal — the F-150.

"After letting up a bit earlier this year, Ford has jumped back into the incentives game in the pickup segment, unwilling to see its rivals snap up market share at its expense," AOL Autos correspondent Gary Hoffman wrote.

"The $3,500 to $4,000 rebate on the F-150 is one of the biggest on any vehicle this month," Hoffman continued.

The other three models from Ford were the Fusion, Focus and Mustang.

Moving on, Chevrolet, Nissan, Honda and Toyota each had a pair of units listed as a top August deal.

"Automakers are still engaged in an all-out incentives war, even though their sales figures are improving," Hoffman asserted

"And some deals are better than they were at the height of the financial crisis," he added.
