Bob Sight Auto Group has acquired Dale Willey Automotive in Lawrence, Kan., from Greg Maurer, according to Performance Brokerage Services, which brokered the sale.
The longstanding Kansas City-area operation, founded in 1970, includes Honda and Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram stores. Maurer joined the ownership group in 1998 and became sole owner in 2014.
Bob Sight Auto Group, led by brothers Zachary and Brian Sight, also operates Ford and Kia dealerships in nearby Missouri. The family has been in the auto retail business since 1923, when the brothers’ great-grandfather opened his first dealership.
Zachary Sight said the acquisition was the company’s first since he and Brian took over the operation.
The dealerships have been renamed Bob Sight Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Bob Sight Honda.
