The National Automobile Dealers Association, which is set to host its annual NADA Show convention this month in New Orleans, released a statement Wednesday following the terrorist attack on Bourbon Street in the city’s French Quarter during the wee hours of New Year’s Day.
The trade association is working with city officials and law enforcement and said it has a “robust plan” for security and safety at the show. That’s par for the course at any NADA Show in any city, but the group is working with the city to determine if additional measures are needed.
“NADA offers its deepest condolences to the victims of New Years Day’s tragic incident in New Orleans, and our thoughts are with all those affected by this senseless act of violence,” the group said in the statement.
“NADA always has an extensive security plan for every Show and city that hosts our organization annually. As such, we have a robust plan in place for the 2025 NADA Show in New Orleans. We will continue working with city officials, including the New Orleans Police Department, to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees,” NADA said.
“We have been in contact with the city regarding Wednesday’s incident to determine if any additional security measures should be added, and those conversations will continue until the Show concludes,” it added. “The safety and security of Show attendees and exhibitors is always our highest priority, and we will work to implement any measures necessary to facilitate a safe Show environment for everyone.”
NADA Show runs Jan. 23-26 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Some 22,000 attendees are expected, with more than 600 events, sessions and meetings on the agenda, and more than 500 companies exhibiting.
