MileOne Autogroup has become a STAR. Or, more precisely, a member of STAR.
The Maryland-based dealership group has joined Standards for Technology in Automotive Retail, an automotive IT standards organization comprised of manufacturers, technology providers and retail dealerships.
MileOne chief information security officer Steve Bailey said his company joined STAR to “help shape the future of technology in the automotive industry, leveraging our deep retail expertise to drive meaningful innovation.”
In a news release, STAR said MileOne, which operates 66 dealership locations in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and North Carolina, “adds an important voice” to its emerging industry standards and has been added to STAR’s Technical Steering Committee as part of its “ongoing dedication to improving and growing solutions for retail automotive.”
In its latest action toward that end, STAR last week released multiple updates to its Dealer Infrastructure Guidelines.
“Dealers are one of three integral components vital to the implementation and success of STAR’s standards,” STAR chairman JP Garvey, dealer principal of Garvey Auto Group in announcing the addition of MileOne. “Their team’s critical insight will facilitate greater engagement across all of STAR’s working groups and will be a pivotal component of both the Technical and Regulatory Steering committees moving forward.”
